Reworking a district through public space
The proposal renews the Dacaishi commercial area while retaining its cultural memory. The framework of Shuangxing Commodity City is adapted, and the surrounding urban fabric is reorganised through an interconnected system of streets, passages and public spaces.
Five thematic experiences guide the commercial programme: relaxation, nature, immersion, social interaction, and identity expression. Flexible layouts, large steps and connecting corridors support different patterns of occupation throughout the day and evening.
