Growing a structure rather than drawing it

Inspired by Boid systems and ant-colony algorithms, the pavilion is generated through the interaction of agents distributed around support points. The agents grow upwards through successive branching stages, producing a tree-like structural hierarchy.

On reaching the upper surface, the agents shift from vertical growth to collective movement. Cohesion, separation and pheromone-based interaction create a porous network of trails. These trails are then materialised as tapered columns and a continuous canopy, with parameter studies revealing how local rules affect the overall form.
